Futureproof: A Roadmap Through Post-Pandemic Church and Beyond
How it works
-
✺ Putting your cohort together
Are you and your team ready to take the next step? Whether you group is comprised of paid staff, a team of volunteers, or community leaders let’s move forward together exploring the future for you and your congregations and/or organizations.
-
✺ Getting in touch
Fill out the form below and tell us a bit more about yourselves. We would love to hear from you and learn more about what you are up to. The more information the better. We are here to understand your communities and contexts so we can better partner with you for a sustainable and flourishing future.
-
✺ Getting started
This cohort requires a six-seek commitment. Each week you will be joined live by our team for lecture and conversation. Each call will be recorded via zoom to be watched if a team member can’t make it. But it is recommended to join live as much as you can in order to get the most out of our team who are on the calls live to address your specific contexts and concerns.
What we’ll cover
-
✺ Stabilizing Strategy
Whatever plans and strategies we had in place before the pandemic are unlikely to be relevant going forward. Nobody planned for this and the shifts that have occurred in our personal, national, and community lives are challenging our core assumptions.
-
✺ Effective Shifts
Life post-pandemic is demanding that we reshape our agendas and retool our strategies to reflect what we know to prepare for an uncertain future. The time to act is now. Both to lock in the changes already made and to accelerate our recovery.
-
✺ Sustainable Ecosystems
Good prediction never assumes that what we do today will work in the future and recognizes that incremental change will only get us so far. Instead, good prediction adopts a set of lenses that can help us uncover the biggest uncertainties our communities face and where adaptability and change might work best.
What’s inside six weeks?
A six-week course that will undertake an exploration of church in pandemic times and beyond. This is a follow up to our main Field Guide course and will seek to equip church leaders and their teams with the necessary tools to navigate through the uncertainty of our times. The challenges, restrictions, and uncertainties of the lockdown and continuing restrictions of public and social gatherings have created vacuums in church leadership strategies and community. This course will offer alternate leadership strategies combined with robust theological perspective to help churches re-frame and reshape their futures.
Weeks 1-2
When everything has changed and we are uncertain of what the future will look like our tendency is to wait and see. But we believe this is the worst possible decision you can make. In these weeks we explore the power of vision and how our communities can benefit from new perspectives.
Weeks 3-4
We live in a world in which change has become an ongoing invitation. But what is the difference between change as a cultural dynamic and change as a necessary response to uncertainty? Let’s explore change as a cultural force as well as new approaches to theology and communication.
Weeks 5-6
Moving beyond trendy management techniques, we examine the interplay between our communities, global panic, and new theological frameworks. Let’s create ecosystems for change, growth, and sustainability undergirded by rich theological reflection.
